decrease, and we'll see some saturday looks fairly dry, but sunday will bring more rainfall over the tri-state. temperature wise, we stay in the upper 60 to near 70 throughout the weekend and even into next week! also -- five school threats in one week. they're happening all over the tristate-- the most recent at three rivers schools. in this case no one was hurt-- but police did arrest one student. as the now's briana harper found, some parents think it's not enough.

tells me a threat to one school is a threat to all here at the three rivers local schools campus. but how parents were notified of that threat is what's causing a difference of opinion. classes here at three rivers school continued as normal on thursday, despite a verbal threat made by a 13-year-old boy less than 24 hours ago. "it's a lot of stuff going on that i'm not used to." phllis sumnner has two grandchildren in the district and says she was concerned. phyllis sumnner// grandkids attend three rivers school "my life is around these kids and i'm pretty sure there are other grandparents like me that's concerned about their kids." a concern school administrators say they also share. thats why the district took to facebook wednesday evening notifying parents that a threat was made and the middle school student involved was now under investigation. lisa whiteley//three rivers local schools spokesperson "we knew that the student safety was under control and so we didn't want to do an all call and get the community worked up or concerned when we knew it was safe especially at 10:30 at night when most students are in bed." but many parents responded via facebook to disagree-- some saying a phone call was necessary. us and letting us know what's going on.that way we know what's going on with our kids to keep them safe." according to the school district--in the past the all-call system had been overused and administrators felt most people weren't taking it seriously. donald trump will be in cincinnati sunday -- appearing at the duke energy covention center. it's the same day as the heart mini is happening downtown. downtown.in the past -- thousands have attended the heart mini.and big crowds are expected for trump's rally as well.we checked with cincinnati police who tell us they'll be in discussions the next few days with the secret service to work out safety plans. in the meantime -- ohio governor john kasich will be in sharonville saturday.he'll be at a pancake breakfast.and he has momentum.today -- ohio state head football coach urban meyer publicly endorsed kasich.in a video meyer calls him a friend, adding that he is a true supporter of what kaisch stands for. with so much focus on the presidential race -- you may have overlooked the senate race between cincinnati councilman p.g. sittenfeld and former ohio governor ted strickland. strickland.there have been callls for sittenfeld to drop out of the race but he hasn't. he says he expects to win.if he does, he will face incumbent republican rob portman in the fall.but sittenfeld has his work cut out for him.a new quinnipiac university poll found 85

trader joes says it has pulled pistachios from its stores as a precaution after health officials warn people in nine states about salmonella cases now linked to some batches of the nuts. nuts.the c-d-c says eleven people have become ill and two had to go to the hospital. celebrating passing a bill to make unpasteurized milk legal, so they toasted with a glass of that milk.and now they're all sick.some say it's just a coincidence. but state health leaders are now investigating. other states are debating making raw milk legal. legal.in fact, it's now legal to sell unpasteurized milk in some form in 30 states.that includes kentucky.in the commonwealth, you can buy raw goats milk *only -- and *with a doctor's recommendation. most of milk we drink is pasteurized. that means it's heated to kill off bacteria in the milk that can make you sick. the c-d-c estimates 79-percent of dairy-related outbreaks until 20-11 came from raw dairy products. raw milk has regained popularity recently because of push toward local natural eating. advocates say it's more nutritious. 60-percent of all the calories we eat, come from food that's considered "ultra-processed." processed." it's food that has manufactured ingredients

developing right now... police in pennsylvania are looking for two gunmen, after a deadly ambush attack at a backyard barbeque. barbeque. five people were killed and three others hurt late last night. police say the gunmen started shooting over the fence. runs=:09jackie johnson- pendleton | witness: "it was just mass chaos, people were crying, people were everywhere and they were screaming and yelling, and there were

wild mountain lion is now suspected of killing a koala. the big cat is well-known in the area. the zoo staff found the koala dead outside its pen. they say they've removed the other koalas from their public habitat for now. they're also moving other animals to their night cages when the zoo closes. drones can get a bad rap, but there's a new effort underway right now, to put them to good use. the nature conservancy is asking volunteers to use drones, following legal and safety guidelines, to take video like this, to see how "el nino" is changing the california coastline. the images from the drones can be geo-tagged, and pinpoint where the land has been eroding. they've already identified one area that's seen 30-feet of coastline dissolve away after storms and flooding. at least three people are dead following severe storms.deaths have been reported in louisiana, oklahoma and texas. the now's todd walker is live in texas where the danger is far from over.todd?

in some areas, the heavy rain is not expected to let up until tomorrow afternoon. it's only adding to an already dangerous situation. watch as this driver spins out in the flood water in mississippi. she then tries to turn around only to go off the road into even deeper water. another driver helps her to safety. she's okay, but that hasn't been the case elsewhere. in louisiana right now, they're expecting another 8-to-10 inches of rain... and they're closely watching a levee near shreveport in case it gets overwhelmed. thousands of people are under mandatory evacuation. boats bringing some of them to safety, after floodwaters overtake their communities.sot=amanda jones, texas resident: "worry about yourself and your children. don't worry about the things in your house. they're

kentucky health officials announced today someone returned from a zika-infected country with the virus. virus.the man lives near louisville and recently traveled to central america. we're told he is doing well and will fully recover.health officials say its important to remember that zika is commonly spread by mosquitoes and that no cases have been reported of anyone contracting the virus in the united states without having first had contact with someone who had traveled to an infected country. last month -- a kentucky family from murray, kentucky reported zika-like symptoms after spending 16 months in haiti.everyone in the family of five showed symptoms but say they recovered quickly after returning stateside. walnut hills is being called 'cincinnati's next big revitalization project.' one of the first big steps came today with a ribbon cutting at a new apartment complex. the trevarren flats are housed in three historic, vacant buildings in the 900 block of east mcmillan street. the 9-million dollar renovation consists of 30 new apartments

on her husband's cell phone some text messages that were disturbing to her. they were sexual in nature with a female she knew to be underage." police traced those messages back to the 14-year-old girl. they also issued search warrants for the girl's facebook account and text messages.(captain steve kellams/bloomington police department) "we recognized that it had been pretty clear the 14-year-old had solicited money for sexual intercourse with an individual we don't believe at this time that that actually happened."kellams said they found other conversations, but none of them were sexual in nature. (captain steve kellams/bloomington police department) "it looks like in some of those conversations she did represent herself as being 17."the case is alarming for faith based groups like ascent 121.the nonprofit works to provide awareness and resources to help victims of exploitation and trafficking. california lawmakers voted today to raise the smoking age from 18 to 21.the move now goes to governor jerry brown who must sign it in to law for it to become law.his office isn't commenting at this time whether that will happen.only hawaii has raised the minimum smoking age though some cities like new york and san fracisco have also done so. caught on camera -- a fight between five women thousands of feet in the air!the brawl happened yesterday on a spirit airlines plane headed from baltimore to los angeles. witnesses say two women turned up the music playing on a boom box loudly.when another passenger asked them to turn it down, the women instead made it louder, taunting passengers!police at l.a.x. meet the plane and escorted all five women off the plane. the fbi says no charges will be filed. good news about those frustrating fees the airlines charge for things like checked
